Report: LN Event in Portland, Oregon
Linda and I had a great time in Portland for the Lie-Nielsen Hand Tool Event! As always our LN hosts were helpful and generous and a lot of fun to be with. We thank them for including us. Gary Rogowski was the event’s “uber host” and had the welcome mat out at his Northwest Woodworking Studio which he had painstakingly turned into a perfect venue for this event. Thank you, Gary. It was a pleasure to see you again!
We were in good company at the show. Dave Jeske of Blue Spruce Toolworks was showing off his wares…
…as were Kevin Drake and Heather Trosdahl of Glen-Drake Toolworks.
We were also joined by Michael from Bridge City Tools but neglected to get his photo (Sorry, Mike.) And, of course the gorgeous selection of Lie-Nielsen tools with how-to help from Lee Laird, John Parkinson and Pat Megowan.
As you can see in the top photo, Linda and I had customers show up with planes that needed help (and blades, of course) and several came by to show off planes that they built:
I can’t wait to see the how Matt’s plane comes out:
Good to meet you, Matt! Our thanks to you and everyone who came to the show.
One hot travel tip: for stunningly great Thai cuisine in SE Portland go to Pok Pok. Awesome!

Holy moley. You went to Pok Pok? Mission accomplished.
